Terms of service
Last updated August 1, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Sprig Vegan Cookbook. They cover what Sprig is, what you are paying for, and what each of us is responsible for. We have tried to write them in plain English.
1.Who we are
Sprig is operated by William Diggs, a sole proprietor doing business as Sprig Vegan Cookbook. Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "Sprig" mean that business, and "you" means the person using the site.
You can reach us any time at sprig.vegancookbook@gmail.com.
2.What Sprig is
Sprig is a subscription website offering plant-based recipes, step-by-step cook-alongs, a meal planner and a combined grocery-list builder. Browsing the catalog is free. Full recipes, cook-alongs and grocery lists require an active subscription, apart from a small number of recipes we make available as free samples.
We add and change recipes over time. We do not promise that any particular recipe will remain available, and removing one is not a change to what you are paying for.
3.Your account
You need an account to subscribe. You agree to give an email address you actually control, to keep your password to yourself, and to tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.
An account is for one person. Sharing your login is the one thing that most directly undermines a subscription product, and we may suspend an account we believe is being shared.
You must be at least 13 to have an account, and old enough where you live to enter a contract in order to subscribe.
4.What is free
Every recipe on Sprig is free to read in full, including its ingredients and its method, with no account and no payment. That is not a trial and it does not expire.
A free account additionally saves your favorites and carries them between your devices.
A subscription adds the step-by-step cook-along, the full merged grocery list, the whole weekly planner and live list sharing. There is no free trial of those: you are charged when you subscribe, and you can cancel at any time.
5.Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe, on the plan and at the price shown to you at checkout. We deliberately do not restate prices here, so that what you see at checkout is always the authoritative figure.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. We will tell you before any price change affects you.
You can cancel at any time from your account page — no email required. When you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend access until it succeeds.
6.Refunds
Subscriptions are non-refundable, including partial periods. You can cancel at any time from your account page and you will keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for — you just will not be charged again. Reading the recipes stays free either way.
This is stated here and on our pricing page before you buy. If something has genuinely gone wrong, email us anyway; this policy describes what we owe you, not the limit of what we are willing to do.
Nothing here removes any right you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
7.Where we sell
We currently offer subscriptions only to customers in the United States and Canada, and checkout is limited accordingly. Anyone may browse the site from anywhere.
We are not able to accept subscriptions from other regions at this time, and attempting to work around that limitation is a breach of these terms.
8.Recipes, allergens and food safety
This is the most important section on this page, so it is written plainly rather than in legal language.
Our recipes are provided for general information. Cooking involves heat, sharp tools, hot oil and raw ingredients, and you are responsible for cooking safely in your own kitchen. Follow safe food-handling, cooking and storage practices, and use your own judgment about whether a dish is properly cooked.
You must check the label on every product you buy for allergens. Ingredient formulations vary between brands and change without notice, and we cannot know what is in the specific product you pick up. If you or anyone you are cooking for has a food allergy, intolerance, or a medical condition affected by diet, treat our ingredient lists as a starting point and not as an assurance.
Where we show a calorie or nutrition figure it is approximate and is a guide only. Nothing on Sprig is medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation.
9.How you may use our content
The recipes, text, illustrations, photography and software on Sprig belong to us or our licensors. While your subscription is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use them for your own cooking.
You may print or save recipes, plans and grocery lists for your own use, and cook our recipes for anyone you like, including commercially in your own kitchen — a recipe is for cooking.
- Do not republish, sell or redistribute our recipes, illustrations or text, in whole or in substantial part.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the catalog, by hand or by machine.
- Do not share your account, or use it to give others access to paid content.
- Do not attempt to bypass the paywall or access content you have not paid for.
10.Availability
We work to keep Sprig running, but we do not guarantee it will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, and we may need to take it down for maintenance.
If we permanently discontinue the service while you are subscribed, we will stop billing you.
11.Disclaimer of warranties
Sprig is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, that recipes will produce any particular result, or that any information on the site is complete or accurate.
12.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising out of your use of Sprig.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Sprig is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.
13.Ending your access
You can stop using Sprig at any time, and cancel from your account page.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms — in particular the sharing, scraping and paywall provisions above. If we close your account without cause while you are paid up, we will refund the unused portion of your current period.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.
Continuing to use Sprig after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you can cancel.
15.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Maryland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of Sprig.
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in force.
16.Contact
Questions about these terms, your subscription, or anything else: sprig.vegancookbook@gmail.com. We are a very small operation and we read everything.
